What is MH Cleaning?
MH Cleaning is a referral agency that connects clients with vetted, independent cleaning professionals in the Columbus, Ohio area. We coordinate bookings, handle scheduling, and ensure quality standards, but the cleaning services are performed by independent contractors, not employees of MH Cleaning. By booking through us, you acknowledge this relationship. MH Cleaning facilitates the service but is not the direct provider of the cleaning labor.

Are your cleaning professionals insured?
MH Cleaning carries general liability insurance for the services coordinated through our platform. Independent cleaning professionals referred through MH Cleaning are required to meet our standards. We can provide details on our coverage upon request.
Do cleaning professionals provide their own supplies and equipment?
Independent cleaning professionals referred through MH Cleaning bring their own supplies and equipment to each job. We recommend the use of professional-grade, eco-friendly products, but supply choices may vary by provider. If you have specific product requirements, please let us know at the time of booking and we will do our best to accommodate.
Are the cleaning professionals background-checked?
Yes. Cleaning professionals in the MH Cleaning network are vetted and background-checked before being assigned to client homes or businesses. While they are independent contractors and not employees of MH Cleaning, we require all referred professionals to meet our screening standards.
Are the cleaning products safe for pets and children?
We recommend that our cleaning professionals use eco-friendly, non-toxic products that are generally safe for pets and children. However, since independent contractors supply their own products, we cannot guarantee the specific products used on every job. If you have specific allergies or sensitivities, please inform us in advance. Clients are responsible for disclosing any known allergies before service begins.
Do you handle hazardous spills or toxic materials?
No. Services coordinated through MH Cleaning do not include hazardous spills, bodily fluids, or other toxic substances. We only coordinate standard cleaning services for move-in ready spaces. If you have hazardous materials or biohazard situations, please contact specialized cleanup professionals who are properly trained and equipped for such situations.
Residential Cleaning Services
What's included in a standard house cleaning?
A standard house cleaning typically includes dusting, vacuuming, mopping, bathroom cleaning, kitchen cleaning, and general tidying. Services can be customized based on your specific needs and preferences at the time of booking.
How often can I schedule cleaning?
We offer flexible scheduling options including weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or one-time cleanings. We'll work with you to find a schedule that fits your lifestyle and budget.
Do I need to be home during the cleaning?
No, you don't need to be home. Many clients provide a key or access code for their assigned cleaning professional. Please note that MH Cleaning is not responsible for lost or misplaced keys, and any access arrangements between the client and the cleaning professional are at the client's discretion and risk.
What if the cleaning professional can't get into my home?
It is the client's responsibility to ensure the cleaning professional has access to the property at the scheduled time. If the assigned professional arrives and cannot gain entry due to a wrong code, locked door, broken lock, or any other access issue, a trip charge equal to 50% of the scheduled service fee will apply. The professional will wait up to 15 minutes before leaving and marking the appointment as a lockout. The appointment will need to be rebooked and is subject to availability.
What should I do to prepare for the cleaning?
Please secure all pets in a separate room or area, remove valuable or fragile items from areas to be cleaned, and clear surfaces and floors of personal belongings. MH Cleaning is not responsible for damage to items left in cleaning areas, including fragile, valuable, or sentimental items. If excessive clutter or unprepared spaces prevent the cleaning professional from completing the scheduled work, the full service fee will still apply.
What is your pet policy?
All pets must be secured in a separate room, crate, or outside area before the cleaning professional arrives. If pets are not secured upon arrival, the professional may request that you contain them before beginning work. If pets cannot be secured, the professional reserves the right to leave the appointment and the full service fee will still apply. MH Cleaning is not responsible for pets that escape through open doors during service, and neither MH Cleaning nor the cleaning professional is liable for any pet-related incidents including bites, scratches, or allergic reactions.
Commercial Cleaning Services
What types of commercial properties do you service?
We coordinate cleaning services for various commercial properties including offices, retail stores, schools, daycares, and other business establishments. Contact us to discuss your specific commercial cleaning needs and we'll match you with the right cleaning professional.
Can cleaning be scheduled around our business hours?
Yes, we offer flexible scheduling to work around your business hours. Services can be arranged during early morning hours, evenings, weekends, or any time that's convenient for your business operations.
Who provides janitorial supplies for commercial clients?
Cleaning professionals typically bring their own supplies and equipment. Alternatively, arrangements can be made for the professional to use your existing supplies. Contact us to discuss supply arrangements for your specific situation.
Do you offer contract pricing for regular commercial cleaning?
Yes, we offer contract pricing for regular commercial cleaning services. All contracts require a valid credit or debit card on file for automatic payment. Contact us for a customized quote based on your specific needs, frequency, and square footage.
Pricing and Payment
Is there a minimum service charge?
Yes, all residential cleaning services booked through MH Cleaning are subject to a minimum service charge. This accounts for coordination, travel time, and preparation regardless of the size of the job. Contact us for current minimum pricing.
How do you determine pricing?
Pricing is based on several factors including the size of your space, type of cleaning required, frequency of service, and any special requirements. We provide free estimates; however, all estimates are subject to change if the actual condition of the space differs from what was described or assessed. Additional charges may apply for heavily soiled areas, excessive clutter, or work beyond the original scope.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit and debit cards only. A valid card must be on file before any service is scheduled. Payment is processed automatically upon completion of service. Late payments or failed transactions are subject to a fee of $25 or 5% of the invoice amount, whichever is greater. Accounts with unresolved balances may result in suspension of services and referral to collections.
Is there a cancellation fee?
We require at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged 50% of the scheduled service fee. No-show appointments and same-day cancellations will be charged the full service fee. No exceptions will be made outside of documented emergencies.
Scheduling and Service
How far in advance should I schedule?
All bookings must be made at least 48 hours in advance by contacting us via phone, email, or our online contact form. Same-day or next-day requests are not guaranteed and may be subject to an expedited service fee. A valid credit or debit card is required at the time of booking to confirm your appointment. Recurring service schedules are set at the time of booking and are subject to availability.
What if I need to reschedule my appointment?
You can reschedule your appointment by calling or emailing us at least 48 hours in advance. Rescheduling requests made with less than 48 hours' notice are subject to the same fees as cancellations (see cancellation policy above).
Can I request additional work during my appointment?
Any work beyond the original scope of your booking must be requested through MH Cleaning and agreed upon before it begins. Additional tasks are subject to extra charges based on the time and effort required. Please do not request additional work directly from the cleaning professional on-site, all booking changes must be coordinated through MH Cleaning. We reserve the right to decline add-on requests if they cannot be accommodated within the scheduled time or if they fall outside standard services.
Do you offer cleaning during holidays?
We have limited availability during major holidays, but we can arrange holiday cleaning services based on cleaning professional availability. Please contact us well in advance to schedule holiday cleaning, as availability fills up quickly during these times.
Specialized Services
Do you offer move-in/move-out cleaning?
Yes, we coordinate move-in/move-out cleaning services. This typically includes deep cleaning of all rooms, appliances, cabinets, and fixtures to ensure your space is move-in ready.
Can you arrange cleaning after construction or renovation?
We can coordinate post-construction cleaning for move-in ready spaces only. This includes light dust removal, surface cleaning, and final touch-ups. Services do not include construction debris, drywall dust, paint removal, or hazardous materials. The space must be free of active construction hazards before any cleaning professional will begin work. Post-construction jobs may be priced higher than standard cleaning due to the additional labor involved.
Do you offer carpet cleaning services?
Our services focus on general cleaning. We can recommend trusted carpet cleaning professionals in the area and coordinate with them to provide a complete cleaning solution for your space.
Liability and Damages
What happens if something is damaged during cleaning?
Any damage must be reported to MH Cleaning within 24 hours of the service with photographic evidence. We will investigate all claims and coordinate with the cleaning professional involved to work toward a fair resolution. MH Cleaning acts as a referral agency and is not directly liable for the actions of independent cleaning professionals. We are not liable for damage to items that are fragile, improperly secured, or left in cleaning areas after being asked to remove them. Pre-existing damage, normal wear and tear, and items not disclosed before service are not covered.
Are there limits to liability?
MH Cleaning's liability as a referral agency for any single incident is limited to the service fee paid for that appointment. MH Cleaning is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. As cleaning professionals are independent contractors and not employees of MH Cleaning, liability for damages caused during service ultimately rests with the individual service provider. For high-value items or spaces, we strongly recommend clients obtain their own appropriate insurance coverage.
Are photos taken of the property?
Yes, cleaning professionals may take before-and-after photos of the cleaned areas for quality assurance and documentation purposes. These photos help protect both you and the service provider in the event of a dispute regarding the condition of the space or any damage claims. Photos are kept confidential and are not shared publicly. By booking through MH Cleaning, you consent to this documentation practice.
What is your policy on client conduct toward cleaning professionals?
We have a zero-tolerance policy for verbal abuse, harassment, intimidation, threats, or any form of inappropriate behavior directed toward cleaning professionals. If a cleaning professional feels unsafe or is treated disrespectfully, they are authorized to stop work and leave the property immediately. The full service fee will still apply, and MH Cleaning reserves the right to permanently decline future service to the client.
Can service be refused or stopped?
Yes. Both MH Cleaning and the assigned cleaning professional reserve the right to decline or discontinue service at any time if unsafe conditions are encountered, including but not limited to: pest infestations, hoarding conditions, unsanitary environments, aggressive pets, hazardous materials, or any situation that poses a health or safety risk. In such cases, the full service fee or a trip charge may still apply. MH Cleaning also reserves the right to refuse future bookings for clients with a history of non-payment, repeated no-shows, or abusive behavior toward cleaning professionals.

Final pricing may differ from the estimate if the actual conditions vary from what was described or if additional work is requested on-site. Estimates are valid for 30 days from the date issued.
